Biljana Stankovic is a molecular biologist with a main research interest in biomedicine. She finished her PhD in the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, by studying genetics of inflammatory bowel diseases, mostly doing the wet lab. Afterwards she gained experience in biostatistics and bioinformatics and has been formally educated in bioinformatics by completing a semi-master course “Bioinformatics for Biologists'' at School of Computing, University Union in Belgrade. She works at the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering, University of Belgrade, Serbia and her current interest is focused on genomics and pharmacogenomics of inflammatory bowel disease and methods in biostatistics and bioinformatics needed for analysis of biological big data.
